Reasons Why You NEED To Start Wearing Press On Nails Fall 2022

Believe it or not, press on nails are not new to the beauty industry. Celebrities often use them during photoshoots, same as actors do when on-set. However, the pandemic had a huge role to play in making them go main-stream. If you haven’t already converted to press ons, I might be able to give you a little more insight as to why you should.

Press on nails are an amazing salon alternative to help you maintain your beauty standards in this cost of living crisis.

It’s no illusion that every aspect of being a human is becoming INSANELY expensive, and we are all beginning to feel the pinch on our pockets. If you’re having to make cutbacks on expenditure where you can, I can assure you that you’re not alone.

As much as getting your nails done may seem like an expensive, unnecessary exercise, there’s no denying that a fresh manicure releases a shed-load of dopamine (the ‘happy’ endorphins).

Whether you take a trip to the salon religiously every 2 weeks, or you only get them done for a special occasion, having your nails done is a pleasure that we should all be able to enjoy, even if money isn’t too abundant.

This is where I rant about all the amazing, money saving benefits that press on nails have to offer! I’m pretty sure you know the basics (I talk about it ALL the time on my instagram), but if you don’t, then you are definitely missing out. Here are the facts:

    • A set of press on nails from Prestige Nails can cost you as little as £14.95. This is just a third of the price that you’d pay at a salon, and they last just as long.
    • Press on nails can be reused, generally about 3 times (before they start showing signs of wear). If you were to wear your set 3 times, it can last you about 6 weeks. To put it into perspective, to keep your salon nails in prime condition, you will have to have 1 new set (about £45), and then head back to the salon every fortnight for an infill (around £30 each time). So, in order to have beautiful nails for 6 weeks, you’d spend on average £105 at the salon, and from £14.95 for press ons. It’s a no brainer!
    • Hand-painted designs are intricate and customisable, for a much lower price than you’d pay to have someone sit and paint directly onto your nails. Nail techs generally charge a basic price for a set of acrylics, but to add details (flowers, crystals, etc), you’ll see the price of your manicure begin to rack up; for example, nail art is an extra £2 per nail. The same is true for press ons in the sense that if you’re looking for hand-painted designs, the price will be a little more. However, Prestige Nails offers stunning designs (all hand-painted), starting at about £15.95.

If you’re a complete newbie to the press on nails, then I have just the thing for you.

Festive season is approaching, along with a load of other events that call for a stunning set of nails.

If you’re anything like me, as soon as the sun stops coming out and we get the slightest inkling that it’s Autumn, the first thing that springs to mind is Christmas.

Spending time with family on Christmas day is wonderful, but so is the lead-up. You begin to get in the festive spirit: buying new decorations whenever you have the chance, stocking up on festive foods, arranging plans while listening to Mariah Carey and doing all things Christmas.

Press on nails are the cherry on top; you don’t have to go all out santa-claws (lol), but having a subtle Christmas debut on your manicure just adds to the uplifting feel of excitement.

Do you want to know the best thing? You don’t have to wear them for a solid two weeks! The beauty of press on nails is the versatility. You can use sticky tabs as an alternative to glue, allowing you to apply and remove as often as you wish.

So, if you do choose an over-the-top Christmas design, there is absolutely no commitment to having to wear them for 2 weeks until your next appointment. You can simply apply them on Christmas eve, and remove them on boxing day!

The autumn and winter months are abundant with occasions that press on nails are just PERFECT for. As well as Christmas, there is Halloween, Thanksgiving, the 2022 World Cup, uni parties and so much more!

The exceptionally low cost allows you the ability to purchase a set of nails for any given event, even if you only have the intention of wearing them for one night.

So, if you're thinking about making the switch to press ons, or even just trying them out for the first time, there's never been a better time to do it!
